Hope Is What You Seek

this zine reflects on a childhood ritual in Iran where children would sing a rhyme during birthday parties while gifts were opened in front of everyone:

"open it wide, take a peak, hope it's what you seek."

For the artist, this moment was full of anxiety, fearing that her gifts might not be appreciated. years later, as an artist, she experiences the same feeling when presenting new work to the public. the photographs on the back show her navigating these emotions, facing the same mix of hope and vulnerability.
