يأتي هذا العملُ من شعورٍ قويٍّ ومتكرّرٍ بالرغبة في التخفّي، وإخفاءِ العالم الخارجي في آنٍ معًا. نرافق في هذا العملِ النساءَ عبرَ مشقّات السير على طرقاتِ بيروت التي تسكنها ظلالٌ غريبةٌ لأشعّةِ شمسٍ لا تطاق. 

كيف تتفاعلُ أجسادُنا في مدينةٍ يكسوها الحدادُ والألم؟

This work came from a recurring urge to stay out of sight but also blot out the surrounding city. We walk with these women through Beirut's streets, with their strange shadows and unbearably bright sunlight.

How do our bodies interact when the city is in a state of grief?

تتنقّلُ كارن كيروز بين فنونِ الرسمِ والقصص المصوّرة والتصوير، وقد أطلقت أوّلَّ روايةٍ مصوّرةٍ لها بعنوان "Flux et Reflux" عام ٢٠١٨ مع الأكاديمية اللبنانية للفنون الجميلة (ALBA)، حيثُ حازت على شهادة الماجستير عام ٢٠١٥. نشرت كيروز العديدَ من القصصِ المصوّرةِ القصيرة مثل "The 8th sleeper" في عدد "تجريب" من مجلة السمندل - ٢٠١٨،  و"Urine" في مهرجان Lyon BD في فرنسا - ٢٠١٨، و كلّ من "Are You Still reading the news" و"Have a Seat" ضِمنَ مجموعة زيز - ٢٠١٧.

عرضَت كيروز أعمالَها كذلكَ في العديد من المهرجانات مثل مهرجان Angoulême International Comics Festival، وLyon BD وBD Amiens وكايرو كوميكس

كما شاركت في تأسيسِ مجموعة زيز، وتتولّى مهامًا تحريريّة وفنّية في السمندل حاليًا.

​​في عام ٢٠١٧ نظّمت كيروز مع بعض من أصدقائها حفلات رسم حيّة في بيروت، وقد طوّرت عبرها لغةً في الارتجال البصريّ مستوحاة من "الباريدوليا".

Karen Keyrouz’ practice is a “ va-et-vient ” between drawing, comics and filming.
She launched her first graphic Novel “ Flux et Reflux ” (2018) with ALBA (Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts), where she earned her master’s degree (2015). She also published several short comics like “ The 8th sleeper ” (Samandal-Experimentation, 2018)  “ Urine ”(Lyon BD-France, 2018), “ Are you still reading the news ” and “ Have a Seat ”(Zeez collective, 2017).
Karen exhibited her work in many international festivals like: Angoulême International Comics Festival, Lyon BD, BD Amiens and Cairo Comix.
She co-founded Zeez collective and is an active member of the acclaimed Samandal Comics, where she edits, writes and draws comics.
In 2017 along with some friends they organized the drawing concert in Beirut, during this happening she developed a specific language in visual improvisation based on the “ Pareidolia ”.
